The Club is an accredited RYA Training Centre for Dinghy and Powerboat courses on the water and occasional shorebased courses, for members of the Club, or other Port sailing clubs and partner voluntary organisations.
Sailing Courses available are –
RYA Youth Scheme Stages 1 to 4, an introduction through to proficiency at sailing small boats for the under 18’s
RYA National Dinghy Scheme Levels 1 to 3, Seamanship Skills, Day Sailing, Sailing with Spinnakers.
Power Boat courses
RYA Powerboat Level 2 – This is the basic “driving licence” for small displacement and planing craft.
RYA Safety Boat – For more experienced drivers who intend to assist covering safety during regattas and other types of water sports activities
Shorebased courses
We may offer or need to organise a range of the RYA short courses such as First Aid, VHF, or Diesel Engine Maintenance, subject to demand and our needs from time to time.
RYA OnBoard
We are also accredited under the RYA and the Adventurous Activities Licensing Service to offer young people from other youth organisations occasional opportunities to experience sailing.
We comply with the Plymouth City Council’s sports clubs “Good Practice Accreditation”
